Neuro Ophthalmology 

Neuro ophthalmology is the cross over between eye and brain disease. Although often regarded in isolation, the eye is an extension of the brain and the two, not surprisingly, interact.

Optic nerve inflammation, Stroke, Temporal Arteritis, Raised Skull Pressure and Double Vision are all examples of these complex conditions.

Neuro ophthalmic conditions require urgent review, coupled with rapid investigation and diagnosis. 

We maintain a policy that all urgent patients are reviewed at short notice. Appointments are often given the same day.

Although Neuro Ophthalmic disorders can be very serious, if treated promptly most patients do very well.
